IFS-Internal Family Systems
Have you ever felt that different part of you want different things?
In IFS, all parts are welcome.
What is IFS?
IFS (Internal Family Systems) is a cutting edge model of understanding personality that is gaining widespread popularity across the globe. You can get to know your different “parts” and work with them to gain understanding of your inner system.
Individuals are made up of different parts, such as an angry part, a hurt part, a joking part, a super-organized part etc. By understanding your parts and working with them, you can help your inner system become more harmonious.
An important aspect of IFS is getting in touch and gaining more access to your core self which is not a part, but rather your essence. This is a place of calm, curiousity, and courage. Leading your system from this place of wholeness, allows you to take into account many different perspectives while making decisions.
You can cultivate leadership abilities by connecting to your inner core Self, helping your hurt parts heal, and understanding, appreciating, and negotiating with your different parts.
IFS is an accepting, gentle, and compassionate approach. It believes that all parts have good intentions (even when the effects of part-led behavior are harmful). One IFS mantra is “All parts are welcome”.
